We hope you managed to come and visit us at Grand Designs last weekend!

We had a brilliant show. Not only did we meet lots of great people, who are just as enthusiastic as us, it also gave us a great opportunity to show everyone what we do – and nothing betas seeing something person or being able to feel the smoothness and textures of different woods and finishes.

The enquiries are already coming in from several of the people we spoke to, who having taken lots of inspiration and ideas from around the show, are now ready to start their projects.

If you didn’t get a chance to visit Grand Designs, then there’s always next year! But just to give you a glimpse of what you missed…. this is what we looked like!

After an awful lot of hardwork (Ciaran doing most of it – as I am a bit out of action having shattered my ankle falling off a horse!), we made it to Burghley with some great pieces of furniture. We sold quite a few pieces on the day and have taken on several new orders as a result – so we are very excited!!!

But even more so, the saddle stand we designed, sold really well, annd that has given us real confidence to go nationwide with markeetting it – so things seem like they are on the up!

Ciaran and our new saddle stands at our stand at Burghley Horse Trials

We are launching a brand new products at Burghley Horse trials this year – in fact – in less than 2 weeks!

It is a fabulously stylish new saddle horse, available in various timber to suit your tastes, and is beautifully curvacious.

Come and see what else we have on our stand in the Rural Crafts Tent. We’re not to be missed!!!!!!!

Watch this space….

….since I wrote anything.
For some reason I thought I would have lots of time to keep ervyone informed of all the fun we’ve been up to, I mean work, yes, work! But the time just seems to disappear, and there always seems to be something more important to do.

But I have realised that doing this is one of the most important things I should be doing – because if I don’t keep people informed of what we do, how will anyone know! I’m learning.

So, this is me turning over  a new leaf.

So keep watching!!!

We have had some good news today – we have been accepted into the Rural Crafts Association. This means you get to see more of us!

We have a crafts show schedule which starts at Belton Horse Trials in April, and works throug several shows over the summer at places such as Burghley Horse trials, East of England Show and The Royal Welsh Show, through to a crafts at christmas show in December back at Burghley.

Together with the Northamptonshire Guild of Designer CRaftsmen, with whom we will be exhibiting later this month at MK Arts, Milton Keynes and hopefully appearing on BBC RAdio Northampton – it seems you will never be able to escape from us!

Lucky you!

OK, here goes…

I have finally decided that I actually need to get off my backside and promote myself and the business. I’m sure there’s a phrase about calling the mountain to Mohammed or something?

Anyway, I have emailed everyone on my list to email, I have completed all the quotes I need to, I have emailed BBC Northampton with an idea I have, and now I am updating the blog – which as you may have noticed, is quite a feat!

I am now about to embark on Marketting. I’m not qute sure how or by saying what, but I will well and truly give it a good go – watch this space!!!

Oh, and if I could squeeze in a sundance, I’ll do my very best!

Another long week

Just as we finish all the weekend tasks, it’t time to wind back up again for the week ahead!

I have fed horses, walked dogs, cleaned out chickens, and still dinner to cook.

We have had a busy week, which is all good, with some of our repeat clients needing jobs done quickly, so unable to say ‘no’ to anything, we got our heads down and fulfilled what we had promised to do – but am now shattered.

And having just sat down to an evening off, have just remembered that sometime last week I thought a blog was a good idea, and that I had promised myself I would update regularly. Well failed on that front, but blogging I am.

Well what lies ahead for this week? Well, I have just completed 2 new quotes, so hope to hear back from them this week, I have 32 frames to make before Valentine’s Day, 40 dog jumps to spray  and some additions to a wardrobe for a customer in the village.

On top of which I have the vets on Tuesday and the back woman on Wednesday for the horse, 3 ducks need going to duck heaven in our freezer, and the usual dog agility and dog obedience classes in the evenings.
It’s all go in this place – but I wouldn’t have it any other way

Oh – and seed potatoes to chit!!!

Our first blog!

This is our very first ever blog!

I hope you will enjoy learning about us, our lifestyle, our work, our animals, our ideals – and keeping afloat, whilst sticking to what we believe.

Today, I will just leave you with what earns our living – www.sylph-furniture.co.uk
